Waiting for "Superman"
Waiting for “Superman” is a documentary film that examines the crisis of public education in the U.S. through multiple interlocking stories — from a handful of students and their families whose futures hang in the balance, to the educators and reformers trying to find lasting solutions within a broken education system. Directed by Davis Guggenheim and produced by Participant Media, the film will be distributed by Paramount Vantage. The team that brought the world An Inconvenient Truth is now focused on highlighting the crisis in the American public education system.

Facilitate a discussion in your community
America’s Promise Alliance has developed a toolkit to help you host a discussion around Waiting for "Superman." This discussion guide is a tool to help engage your community in conversation about the local education system and how individuals can make a difference. We believe the dialogue surrounding the documentary Waiting for “Superman” can serve as a catalyst for a movement on behalf of our young people, providing them access to more opportunities for an excellent education. Agreeing to host a screening and discussion will enable you to both leverage and advance the work you do — whether that means re-energizing your current team, engaging additional partners, finding funders or recruiting volunteers. By using this guide, you have the opportunity to raise awareness about your work and recruit additional stakeholders to help you change the trajectory for many young people in your community.
